Graphic Designer

Last night was Fashion’s Night Out in Washington, DC, so I decided to hop off the bus at Georgetown where I knew the festivities would be taking place. As soon as I stepped onto the curb, I came across “Design“- I’ll call her that because she went to school for graphic design and I have absentmindedly  forgotten her name.

Design looked edgy yet natural as she walked down Georgetown’s cobble stoned streets in her aviators and turban. I’ve been impatiently waiting  for people to start wearing boots again, so you can imagine my excitement when I saw Design in her brown, buckled, leather ones.

What I appreciated most about Design was that she took risks, but in a subtle way. Notice that she has on mix -match earrings and two watches- it is these thoughtful details that added edge to her muted earth tone ensemble.

Close up on turban and blinged ear.

Design describes her style as “Seattle”.

After meeting, photographing, and having some insightful chatter with Design, I realized that Fashion’s Night Out was not the place for me to find my street inspiration (there were a lot of people there trying too hard to be noticed). I enjoyed Design’s casually chic outfit, but when we parted ways, I continued on home.

Thanks for letting me snap your fotos!
